About This Project
This project completed by Jonathan Mallinson showcases the versatility of Oak and British Larch to create this beautifully constructed timber-frame garage. The structure uses both materials, with Character Grade Oak Featheredge Cladding used on the exterior for a rustic and natural finish, whilst C24 British Larch and THB Grade Oak has been used for the structural framing of the garage, showcasing both strength and longevity. This combination of the two has proven to create a harmonious and cohesive look throughout.
The open structure allows you to see the craftsmanship that has gone into the framing, with exposed beams and a skylight that highlights the open space with natural light. With the inclusion of an open bay and one with an electric door, it’s the perfect synchronisation of modern and classic aesthetics and use, providing a secure space for vehicles as well as other storage and workmanship. The blend of rough sawn and planed finishes adds to the texture and depth of the interior of the garage, and the tiled roofing adds that traditional touch.
A great example of blending modern and classic elements together to create a visually and structurally stunning space, one that will last for a long time and be fully functional.
