About This Project
This is a beautiful example of a front porch made using solid European Oak featuring a strong central column, curved knee braces and arched frieze beam. Masterfully crafted by Rural Oak, it perfectly highlights the timeless character of solid Oak finished with ornate trim and dark tile roof.
Known for its strength, European Oak is the ideal choice for outdoor projects such as this and its high moisture content makes it easier to work, allowing for flexibility during construction. As it weathers, the Oak will turn a beautiful silver/grey colour, a timeless addition to any home. Green Oak’s natural durability means there is minimal maintenance required to upkeep, the material strong enough to last for decades to come.

About This Project
Dominique has created this stunning garden transformation using our C16 Treated Softwood Carcassing Timber, Green Treated Softwood Posts and Treated Softwood Picket Pales. The combination of these products has resulted in this sturdy and contemporary pergola-like structure to create a space worthy of relaxation and entertaining, no matter the weather or occasion.
C16 graded timber is structurally graded for ultimate durability and stability in a project, especially when it comes to roof joists and timber framing. The addition of the Green Treated Softwood brings the project together, the Tanalith E used to treat the material chemical-free, making it safe to use around pets and children alike. The green hue of the treatment will eventually weather into a natural grey/silver colour over time. Picket pales are the perfect way to create a boundary around your property at a cheap price.
About This Project
One of our customers has used our PAR Air Dried Oak beams to craft a flight of stairs for their home, what an innovative solution!
Our Air-Dried Structural Oak Beams are dried for at least 36 months and generally longer, therefore due to there lower moisture content compared to that of our Structural Green Oak Beams they are more stable and less prone to movement and cracking, making them perfect for all internal structural uses such as mantel pieces, window frames and restorations.

About This Project
One of our customers, Gavin, has used our Structural Douglas Fir 150 x 150 Beams and British Larch/Douglas Pergola Rail Rafters in various sizes to craft a stunning gazebo for his back garden.
Douglas Fir is a very durable domestic softwood used extensively in Timber Framed Structures. Although not quite as durable as European Oak, this beautifully grained material offers a lower cost yet equally attractive alternative. Our Douglas Fir beams come in a range of sizes up to 400mm x 400mm square, and in a range of lengths including; 2400mm, 3000mm, 4000m, 5000mm. 6000mm, 7000mm, 8000mm, 9000mm, 10000mm, 11000mm and 12000mm.
The British Larch/Douglas Fir rafter rails are left untreated due to the materials natural durability thanks to their high resin content which acts as a highly effective preservative, which makes it decay, rot and insect resistant.

About This Project
One of our customers bought our British Larch/Douglas Fir Swan Neck Closed Board Driveway Gates (Pair of 1665mm) in conjunction with our British Larch/Douglas Fir Gate posts (2400 x 200 x 200, Full Pyramid Top, Planed All Round) and Our Cranked Band & Hook on Plate to renovate the entrance to their driveway and property.
English Larch/Douglas Fir are both definitively regarded as the most hard wearing of all domestic softwoods. The colour of English Larch/Douglas Fir varies from deep red to pink to cream and is completely random, it adds serious character to these most adaptable of English softwoods.
Supplied untreated, the high resin content of English Larch/Douglas Fir means that they require no treatment! However if you wish to prolong the supplied colour or use a weather resistant sealant, please take a look at our Treatex Douglas Fir Protection.
Our Douglas Fir/English Larch Gate Posts are untreated. The high resin content is what gives the material its natural durability, however treatment can be applied should you require additional protection from the elements or to maintain the colour that little while longer. Taking good care of wood in exterior applications is of paramount importance as it not only provides protection, but it will also enhance its natural beauty and feel. By protecting it from the elements you’ll also be increasing its resistance against rot, decay and insect attack.
About This Project
One of our customers at UK Timber has ordered one of our Douglas Fir Pergolas to enhance their decking and seating arrangement within their garden.
Our Pergola kits are a must-have purchase should you require a simple and effective solution for outdoor entertaining or as a support for the growth of climbing plants.
The components of the kit will be constructed from untreated British Larch/Douglas Fir that has been pre-cut and machined, eliminating the need for annual retreatment and meaning that it will only require basic tools to assemble using the supplied instructions.
These purposely designed, simple to fit, slot together pergolas really are a dream to construct. Just slot them together in their pre-cut slots to build the structure then for additional strength, if required, pop a small screw (supplied) at each joint.

About This Project
David has created this beautiful show garden for the BBC Gardeners’ World Live Garden Expo.
Using a mixture of wooden components and rail tracks, this garden is the perfect use of reclaimed materials for a visually aesthetic and functioning garden.
Our Reclaimed Oak Crossing Timbers were used for retaining walls and steps throughout the garden, creating a strong base for the pathways and to create boundaries within the space to fully utilise it. These solid pieces of Oak, taken from beneath rail points and crossing where the additional length and strength is required, can sometimes be used as Oak beams in barns and outhouses or any other suitable location. They are good for bearing the weight of heavy machinery and all types of farming uses.
These are available up to around 7200mm in length with the width varying 250-280mm and 150mm in thickness. Speak to our sales team for specific lengths and widths for free quotations.
